My husband and I came across the work of Martin Martinček during our holiday in Slovakia several years ago. We were hiking in Nizke Tatry mountains and one day went down to a little village, high in the mountains, to look for some place to sleep. We met two men (father and son; local carpenters) who offered us a room in their house. In the morning we were drinking tea with our hosts and talking and they said they want to show us some photos. We didn't expect anything special. They brought a pile (really big pile) of photography albums. We took a look at them and we were absolutely stunned - they were great! These were photos of very tallented and well known (as we later checked) Slovak photographer - Martin Martinček, who was born and raised in this area. We could see all these beautiful images in their "source" - place where a lot of them were taken. Our hosts told us who was on photos (grandma, other family members, neighbours and friends) and shared other stories about them.
I've decided to show you landscapes here, because they are very interesting even without all those background stories we've heard.
